Neythan Hayes
Neythan Hayes is thirty nine
He’ll be four zero in one years time.
40 is a funny age
When men go through a funny stage
They miss their youth
And think their cool
In new sports cars
Dropping kids to school.
They smile at all the yummy mummies
Whilst holding in their growing tummies.
The wind blows through their greying hair
If they have some left (Which is rare!)
On facebook they have many friends
(Ageing gits, who look like them).
Or old flames, well past their prime
Who update their status all the time.
With things like, “I’m out tonight, we have a sitter”
The middle-aged man, old and bitter.
Stays in and grumbles at the telly
A beer can perched upon his belly
So Neythan Hayes, in one years time
You will not be 39.
And life will begin
(Or so we’re told)
And you really will be
Very old.
