…..my favourite item from the Spring/Summer 2009 collection is these mid calf length ‘shorties‘!
Lovely soft terry towelling fabric with a light grey/turquoise stripe (catalogue as usual does not do them justice – look more white/blue in the picture.) It is a pity the navy waistband & ties in jersey cotton get hidden under tops.
They are great for urgent potty trips as just pull down & up easily & are very absorbent for little dribbles!
They go well with the Crabber T-Shirt, Heritage blue T-Shirt (from ocean 2 pack) or the Fisherman Sweatshirt.
I cannot wait for the warmer weather for Oliver to wear them outside & I shall definitely be buying a bigger size to keep for next year!
Mummy’s view- This top is a lovely soft grey/turquoise stripe (a lot nicer than the catalogue picture which looks more white/blue stripe!)
I do normally prefer shoulder fastenings as Oliver hates things pulled over his head but the neck is generous without gaping. The fabric is a super-soft jersey cotton which keeps its shape after washing & tumbling (no ironing needed- bliss!) and no stretchy sagging neckline, twisting side seams or thin fabric like some other organic tops!
It looks great layered with the Heritage Blue T-Shirt from the Ocean 2 pack or the Crabber T-Shirt for cooler days.
Oliver’s view- he loves the stripes & the picture (pity the writing has back to front Rs)
I ordered this breastfeeding top in early December & was not disappointed after receiving it in early January on its release (plus a bar of delicious chocolate!)
The floral print is great & looks good with brown/blues/denim/grey/cream. The website picture does not give the colours their true reward – it has a background of light brown with cornflower blue & white flowers and a grey leaf & trailing stem design.
At first I thought that the neck looked generous & low cut but this is not the case. The sleeves would have been better either 3/4 length or with a roll-up button & tab for use when changing nappies/washing-up/bathing! …or perhaps I have short arms but this has not stopped me wearing it virtually all the time.
The gathered yolk design hides slack tummy muscles & the double layer in grey is fab for discrete breastfeeding without revealing my flabby tummy! The lining in grey is on the back as well as the front & so is great for Winter wear.
It’s a pity Frugi don’t do ‘Yummy Mummy’ trousers with adjustable waists! I shall be buying the Tie-Back Top for the Summer even though I won’t be breastfeeding then as I love the flattering design & the soft jersey – no ironing necessary – wash, tumble, wear!
We were very excited to receive out beautifully wrapped parcel from Frugi. Oliver, our 3 year old, grabbed it with glee on recognising the logo saying ‘new clothes! Can I open it now?’
Oliver’s view- He LOVES the pockets especially the 2 with zips on the legs. They’ll be useful for collecting shells in the Summer.
Mummy’s view- These trousers are made from a lovely soft cotton canvas whih looks like a fine linen weave but without the harshness & creasability…..would be ideal for ‘smart wear’ like weddings but equally good for playing on the beach or in the garden as they are very supple!
The ‘roll-up’ is great….lots of growing room for next year……as is the navy blue jersey lined waistband & navy drawstring (not turquoise as shown in the catalogue)…..lots of adjustability & most importantly easy to pull down & up for quick potty trips!
Despite being described as ‘stone grey’ colour they have a slight pale green tinge which is very matchable to many tops & T shirts. They machine wash & tumble dry very quickly & can be lifted out & worn without any ironing!!
